Color Me Red is a nationally award winning one-day event created in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign. The objective of this salon-based fundraising event is for participants to use some element of red hair color to make a visual statement in the fight against heart disease.
Every 60 seconds a woman is impacted by cardiovascular disease. Color Me Red uses the influence and confidence women have with their hairstylist to educate them about their greatest health threat and the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign. Throughout the event, in addition to going red and enjoying spa services, Color Me Red participants also receive life-saving information on a healthy lifestyle- including CPR training, blood pressure screening, fitness and nutrition information.
Color Me Redwas nominated for and won the top $10,000 prize in Wella’s first ever Hairdressers at Heart contest for philanthropic efforts by hair salons. Wella Corporation, a division of Proctor & Gamble, has supported the event through generous product donations so that women could literally “Go Red” to support the cause.
